The state of this country is heart breaking to me. So many people are fearing for their lives daily, only because of the color of their skin. I have spent the last little while sharing my fear, confusion, and sadness. I can share all the links, pictures and posts I want, but that isn’t enough. I need to put my money where my mouth is.
I spent some time reflecting on how I can help. Well, what I do best is knit and dye yarn. Going forward, I will be donating 5% of the sell price of any hand-dyed yarns I sell, once I get them listed online. The charity/organization will change monthly. This month it is Black Visions Collective. But I wanted to do something sooner because it will take a couple of weeks to get that going.
I decided to raise money using my best skill. I have this wonderful hand knit cream bunny with brown socks and blue dress. She was made by me in my cat friendly, smoke free home on Nantucket island. Bunny is about 18″ from tip of ears to the tip of her toes. (This stuffed animal was hand knit using intellectual property from Out of the Thistle, under licensing agreement.)
Well, why not raffle her off to raise money for https://www.blackvisionsmn.org/. Please check them out, they’re an amazing organization. A quote from the front page of their site: “Black Visions Collective (BLVC) believes in a future where all Black people have autonomy, safety is community-led, and we are in right relationship within our ecosystems.”
I will be adding $80 to any money made, as that is the listing price of this bunny.

For PayPal: Click this link and enter the email natalie.knit@gmail.com. Add the amt ($5.00 for one, $10.00 for two, $15.00 for three, or $20.00 for five.) And add a note with your first and last name, email address, and the amount of tickets you are purchasing.
For Venmo: Send the appropriate amount to the username nantucketknitter. And add a note with your first and last name, email address, and the amount of tickets you are purchasing.
I will be write down every single person who enters, (writing names multiple times for multiple entries), then using a random number generator to pick from that list.
I will run this until Sunday June 14th and pick a winner then.
